SEO Specialist

We’re a growing brand and digital creative agency looking for a seasoned SEO Specialist to join our high-energy San Diego team.

Position Summary:

The SEO Specialist will be responsible for optimizing our clients’ rankings to drive greater site traffic and, ultimately, lead generation and conversion. Duties include analysis and reporting of site performance, identification and implementation of site optimizations, strategizing content marketing opportunities, and collaborating within our creative environment to introduce ideas which elevate both our clients’ brands and their bottom lines.

Position Requirements:

  • 2-4 years’ experience at a digital marketing agency or in an otherwise analytics-focused environment
  • Passion for great work and the process + strategies which drive it
  • In-depth knowledge of digital ROI and analytics landscape
  • Track record of successful on-site optimization and content campaigns
  • Skill sets bridging from SEO strategies to role-up-your-sleeves content copywriting
  • Content management experience within common industry platforms (WordPress, Drupal, Joomla)
  • Reverence of multitasking as an art form
  • Clear, concise, direct communication style
  • Experience in maintaining client relationships as the ‘first line of defense’ for questions and feedback
  • History of client growth and profitability
  • Strength in building relationships across clients, internal team and external vendors
  • Vested interest in growing an agency and contributing to its culture

Essential Functions:

  • Consistently and reliably report client site performance analytics
  • Proactively provide insightful optimization opportunities for each client
  • Recommend and execute sound content strategies (landing pages, whitepapers, etc)
  • Partner with creative, technology and brand teams to produce integrated campaigns for a variety of clients
  • Coordinates with internal team members to ensure that project requirements, scope and deliverables are understood and that deadlines are met on time and with consistency and accuracy
  • Constantly communicate with clients and provide best-in-class service to meet their needs
  • Work with business development team to create proposals, budgets and timelines
  • Ensure that the agency delivers all components of a give scope of work or retainer while also being watchful for over-delivery (scope creep)
  • Guide and direct solutions for any project-related issues that arise
  • Manage budgets and projects within our project management system (current software includes Basecamp and Workamajig)
