Jacob Tyler chosen as Agency to Create New Brand and Service for Balboa Park Cultural Partnership

San Diego, April 19, 2013 – After a rigorous Request for Proposal (RFP) process, with multiple Southern California based creative firms, the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership (BPCP) has chosen Jacob Tyler, a leading San Diego-based brand communications agency, to develop the brand for its one day, multi-day and new annual Balboa Park passes.

“We are honored for this opportunity to help build the Balboa Park brand and create excitement around the pass offering,” said Les Kollegian, Chief Executive Officer of Jacob Tyler. “Some of my favorite memories with my son have been while visiting the park and museums and it’s great to be a part of spreading the word to local San Diegans and tourists to visit such a great place.”

The passes will provide San Diegans and park visitors worldwide the opportunity to experience unlimited admission to 17 cultural institutions under one cohesive brand. BPCP’s Executive Director, Peter Comiskey, expressed that the Jacob Tyler team presented a genuine passion, personality and plan that truly aligned with their vision for the park passes.

Residents of San Diego have been asking for an annual Park pass for years. BPCP is proud that the Pass will soon become a reality, and that Jacob Tyler will brand it. “Their proposal and presentation communicated a thorough and audience-focused brand strategy that gave us the confidence to move forward,” Comiskey said.

During the RFP process, Jacob Tyler communicated the complexities involved with developing a complementary singular brand for multiple institutions that also have their own unique brands. As part of the pass development process, Jacob Tyler will work closely with the various institution leaders to define the unified brand. As well, Jacob Tyler will develop a strategy for pass holders to receive additional perks and will offer BPCP future brand extension recommendations.

For the Jacob Tyler team, not only does Balboa Park offer unique beauty, culture, art and science, but also experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. Balboa Park is a cherished institution among the San Diego community and the passes give visitors an even better reason to continue coming back to explore all of the institutions.

“Not only do we believe in BPCP’s vision but on a personal level, we are more than happy to hear that an annual pass will be available soon and we look forward to experiencing Balboa Park in this new and exciting way,” Kollegian said.

“We’re thrilled about the potential of the one day, multi-day and annual passes to redefine Balboa Park as a valuable cultural resource here in San Diego. We’re eager to partner with Jacob Tyler to make our vision a reality,” Comiskey said.

Jacob Tyler looks forward to building a long-term relationship with the Balboa Park Cultural Partnership. The annual Balboa Park pass will launch Fall 2013.
